Meet Carol DiBattiste

Board Director

Carol DiBattiste is an experienced board director and chair, public and private company executive and senior government official with military experience.  She has a track record of success in transformation, legal, risk and regulatory compliance, governance, leadership,  strategy, and privacy.  Her industry experience includes data analytics, cybersecurity/risk and education. Carol’s government senior executive experience includes Honorable Under Secretary of the U.S. Air Force (DOD), Deputy Administrator of the Transportation Security Administration (DHS), Vice Chairman of the Board of Veterans Appeals (VA), Principal Deputy General Counsel of the Navy (DOD), Deputy United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida (DOJ), and Director of the Executive Office for United States Attorneys (DOJ). As the Air Force Under Secretary, she had responsibility for 710,000 headcount and budget of $70 billion, and as TSA’s Deputy Administrator, responsibility for a 55,000 headcount and $5.3 billion budget.

She also served on active duty in the U.S. Air Force as a judge advocate with experience as a prosecutor, teacher and recruiter.

Carol was recruited for multiple senior executive positions as Chief Legal Officer, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary, Chief Compliance Officer, SVP Privacy and Security, Chief Privacy Officer, Chief Administrative Officer, and Chief People Officer.  She served in these senior executive positions at Qomplx, Comscore (SCOR), Education Management (EDMC), Geeknet (GKNT), Reed Elsevier/LexisNexis (RELX), and ChoicePoint (CPS).  

 

Carol currently serves on the Board of  AerSale Corporation (NASDAQ:ASLE), as Chair of the Nominating and Governance Committee, and a member the Compensation Committee.  She is National Association of Corporate Directors Director Certified.  Her prior board experience includes Board Chair on AEye, Inc (NASDAQ:LIDR), board director on American Roll-On Roll-Off Carrier, and board director on Giant Oak.

Carol holds a Master of Laws Degree from the Columbia University School of Law, a Law Degree from Temple University School of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree with honors from LaSalle University. She also completed the Harvard Business School Strategic Leadership Program, and has a Carnegie Mellon University Cybersecurity Oversight Certification. She is licensed to practice law in FL and DC, holds a Secret Level National Security Clearance, and is a speaker on Risk, Compliance, and Leadership.

I am participating in the Leadership Crucible Foundation because I have a keen interest in the positive difference a leadership and management education can do to dramatically improve and save lives. The fire service sets the perfect example for excellence.
